The
Story.
Nawala, Colombo → Curtin → Industry → Monash
Finished A-levels a year early and went straight into Mechatronics Engineering at Curtin University Colombo. Started building and breaking things in the lab from day one.
My final year project grew into something much larger than expected: SMARTNAV, a self-funded autonomous wheelchair using LiDAR, SLAM, depth cameras, and EOG eye-movement signals to navigate hospital environments. It was exhibited at Sahasak Nimavum 2025, the national engineering exhibition.
Alongside that, I built robot arms for garment factories, designed medical-grade testing jigs for a NY health-tech startup, shipped a full-stack property intelligence platform, and ran a photography studio, an apparel brand, and a creative agency. All from Colombo. Heading to Monash University Melbourne in July 2026 for a Masters of Advanced Engineering.
